Speaker Bio
Dr Stacey Reinke is Head of Biochemistry and Computational Biology at ECU’s Centre for Integrative Metabolomics and Computational Biology, where she investigates the biochemical underpinnings of human health, with a focus on respiratory and early-life disease.
After earning her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta and completing a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, Dr Reinke relocated to WA in 2016 to help build the state’s clinical metabolomics capacity. She played a key role in establishing the Australian National Phenome Centre at Murdoch University before joining ECU as a Strategic Research Fellow, later becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2020.
A specialist in clinical and biomedical metabolomics, she combines biochemistry, analytical chemistry, data science, and cohort studies to uncover disease mechanisms. She collaborates with the Telethon Kids Institute on early-life asthma prediction and contributes to sepsis diagnostics research across WA. Dr Reinke also serves on the board of the international Metabolomics Society, leading global efforts in metabolomics education.
