Douglas Chai is a distinguished academic leader with over 30 years of experience and a proven track record in teaching, research, and university service. He currently serves as Associate Dean (Academic) at the School of Engineering, Edith Cowan University, where he oversees a diverse team of academic staff across various disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, energy, motorsports, and aviation. He holds a BEng (Hons) and PhD degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research in computer vision and image processing has led to the publication of over 100 papers, which have garnered more than 5,000 citations.
