In December 2023, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, in collaboration with the University of Sydney (USYD), organised a landmark conference uniting Bhutanese researcher and those focused on Bhutan's studies. Held over two enriching days, the conference served as a nexus for showcasing the remarkable contributions of Bhutanese scholars in Australia while nurturing an environment conducive to cross-cultural exchange, innovative ideation, and potential collaborations.

This theme resonated with global challenges and opportunities, emphasizing collaboration and transformative solutions.

Academic and Diplomatic Significance: Ambassador Sonam Tobgay underscored the conference's diplomatic significance, fostering ties between nations and highlighting Bhutan's unique development philosophy of Gross National Happiness.
